A Place of Theological Inquiry and Spiritual Formation for United Methodist Local Pastors

Garrett Seminary and Methodist Theological School in Ohio are collaborating to form the Great Lakes Course of Study program, expanding the support and resources they offer United Methodist students who seek to become licensed local pastors. The Great Lakes Course of Study will begin serving students in the Fall of 2026. This collaboration has been done in consultation with the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM), which prescribes the Course of Study for The United Methodist Church.
Interested in learning more about the connectional collaboration between Garrett Seminary and Methodist Theological School of Ohio (MTSO) to form "The Great Lakes Course of Study?" Register today for The Great Lakes Course of Study virtual information session on Monday, July 20, 10:00-11:00am CT / 11:00am-12:00pm ET. This virtual information session will share about the new partnership, how it will enable greater supports for COS students, and review the two-step application process.
